Out of the clear blue sky today I got a call from a 10 year nurse at a dialysis center. Apparently his mother was on dialysis for 4 years and he and the unit is NOW interested in offering patients a quality of life. They think home hemo would be better for some of their patients and once I mentioned slow nocturnal decided that was a big WOW and were seriously going to check into it. How this person found out my dad did home hemo (slow nocturnal) is beyond me. But the way this nurse talked for sure something is going to come as they have coming a Fresenius Machine to be used for slow nocturnal. Persistance; Persistance; Persistance is what I could tell this nurse had and that gives me alot of hope.

martha i know how much a shock that there are a lot of people out there in the field of dialysis who donot have the least bit of understanding of esrd.but they are beginning to come around. especially when someone close to them get the condition. it is going to take people like you who understand the condition to understand and know a lot more about the condition than a lot of doctors to not only teach the patients but the care givers too.
