(WASHINGTON, DC, February 26, 2024) - In honor of Black History Month, we are pleased to announce a pivotal event focused on “rallying” around dialysis reform that will take place at the US Capitol, Area 15, Union Square, (Out front of the Capitol), Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 10AM (EST).
This event aims to shed light on the pressing need for reform in the dialysis industry and its impact on underrepresented communities.
We invite members of the press to join us for this important occasion to bring awareness to the challenges faced by individuals in need of dialysis treatment, particularly within the Black community. The event will feature insightful discussions, personal stories, and calls to action to drive positive change and ensure equitable access to quality care.
Congresswoman Katie Porter, a proponent for placing “families first”, above corporate greed and influence, has been invited to address the “rally” attendees, and constituents.
Immediately afterwards, key members of the Healthy DC & Me Leadership Coalition are scheduled to hold discussions with congressional leaders Representative Maxine Waters, and Congressman Jason Crow’s offices to establish accountability measures for proactive legislative reform.
Date: February 29, 2024
Time: 10:00AM (EST)
Location: The U.S. Capitol, Washington, DC
(Area 15, Union Square, Out front of the Capitol.)
