Ms. Preston,

This sounds like a lot to unpack, but I believe I've put it into a nice concise package for you!

Message 4 11/16/2025: A Thanks for Setting off a Rant

Ms. Preston,

I sure can (see Reply 1 below)!  How can people running for office up their game?  For starters paying more attention to the more vulnerable among us.  Over the years I've seen a lot of lip service from our political people: "Oh, that's terrible!  Something really ought to be done!  (thought bubble: "but I ain't going to do it)", then: "Sorry, on to the next crisis! Good luck with that!" (thought bubble: "Those vulnerable people just don't vote enough")  Am I being cynical?  Yeah, I wonder why.  I guess I've seen it over these last 25 years on a personal level as a kidney dialysis advocate: my background.  Here is one of the more recent dog and pony shows I've seen. (that's me in the 2nd image, green coat, speaking to Rep. Jason Crow's aides).  But maybe after our fairly recent DC trip there is more going on than I'm privy to?  Why do I say that?  Because I'm a Goddamn ray of sunshine! - that's why.  However, if past performance is any indication of future results ...well.  Here is what has to be one of the most egregious, horrific examples of large for-profits gone amuck and so many have turned away.  Add bitter to cynical.  Lately I've been thinking a broader appeal might be good and why I've been babbling about the Singapore health system and trying to fit in little shots of kidney dialysis concerns here and there.  Don't get me wrong, I think the Singapore system is an excellent system!

There have been a couple of politicians my friends (R.I.P) and I have managed to work with.  Former CO State Senator Bob Bacon and former CO Representative John Kefalas (current Larimer County Commissioner).  Bob is in a well-earned retirement and John Kefalas (who I bonded with over Medicare-for-All) seems busy.  We did manage to put a band-aid on a very bad system, but still only a band-aid.  I feel unloved, alone, and forgotten lately. Pity me (my wife sure won't!).  But I'm trying to make new friends!

Thank you for a rant this morning!

Ms. Preston,

I just wanted to make you aware that I was inspired to write another message to Rep. Boebert.   I'm just trying to get the incumbent and the candidates to up their games - so we all can benefit.

Message 2 11/10/2025: Informed Jenna Preston of a message to Rep. Boebert to pass on some Congratulations to Senator Bill Cassidy (no snark)

Ms. Preston,

I've already written you about the messages I've been writing Rep. Boebert and the Singapore Healthcare system and I wanted to let you know I've got a new one out!

I wrote Rep. Bobert this time to pass on some congratulations!  No snark here.  I very much like what Senator Cassidy is doing with Flexible Savings Accounts to end the shutdown.  And I let her know!  As I said in my message to her, anything that is done to make our healthcare system look like Singapore's, I'm probably going to be in favor of it (Medisave in this case).  Three out four messages to her have been snarkless now - that is probably a record for me!

I suggested a good next step to her, but pointed out it might be more something that many democrats might be interested in.  I suggested a public option catastrophic healthcare plan - much like Singapore's Medishield.  And since I'm a 25 year veteran of the kidney dialysis wars, I also suggested she might look at small care co-ops for dialysis patients.  You can have a look at what I had to say at the following webpage.

Right now, I plan on doing a round-robin of the CD4 candidates and incumbent to see if I can make like Johnny Appleseed and plant some seeds to see if some ideas might sprout.

Message 1 10/30/2025: Informed Jenna Preston of incumbent Rep. Boebert's response to Healthcare Inquiries

Ms. Preston,

It was nice seeing you in Loveland near the Fairgrounds Park for our potluck here fairly recently!  I'll get right to it, I was hoping to get a better response from you than I've been getting from our current district 4 rep.  But to be fair, I'm sure she has a lot on her plate like the zip code crisis she mentioned in her zoom town hall I listened in on - a crisis that is going to be front page news any day now!

Anyway, I wanted to get her thoughts on a universal healthcare system (not Medicare-for-All) and possibly take it up the chain of command! (I can dream)  Also I wanted to make her aware of a horrific, egregiously bad part of medicine I've been involved in for the past 25 years and some solutions: my friends and our trip to DC last year (I'm in the 2nd image).  By the way, here is a personal intro.  I must admit, the response I got back from her wasn't totally unexpected.  The answer to my healthcare inquiries was a form letter about foreign policy.

I'll confess my reply to her reply was on the snarky side - and I feel properly ashamed.  Or was I being a smart aleck?  Maybe there are hidden healthcare messages in that foreign policy form letter I got?  You stare at what I've been staring at for the last 25 years and your marbles would be a little loose too!

All the Messages to Rep. Boebert sent through her web portal. (latest first)

Anyway, I was hoping to get your thoughts on this matter.
