Roots of this website: Kidney Dialysis Intro:

Even KIDS haven't been spared!!!!

Petition (and see our visit to DC and DC Press Conference + Rally)

Over the years 'Roads of Redemption' have been imagined for a certain individual (or two).  When the term 'Road of Redemption' first came up, it will be admitted images of hot, black asphalt simmering in a Death Valley sun came to mind - with bare feet a walking.  This writer feels properly ashamed.

As the years went by there have been other 'Road to Redemption' images.  One has been 'The Basement of Hell'.

Finally the most recent images haven't come from this writer's fevered imagination.  They have come from a fellow by the name of Rod Serling.  The images were viewed on the streaming app Freevee (can watch with ads).  Season 1, episode 1 was viewed 'Where is Everybody'.  If curious, this most recent version of hell should be easy enough to view? (or not, see update below)

Maybe age does mellow a person.

Update April 9th, 2025: Looks like Freevee stopped broadcasting 'The Twilight Zone', here is a summary of the episode.

Credentials:

Daughter was on dialysis in year 2000 (transplant now).  I helped head-up a group that got a bill through the Colorado Statehouse for the certification of Kidney Dialysis technicians back in 2007 (renewed in 2012 and 2019).  2007 was about a year and half before the Feds came out with their less strict tech regulations.

Wife has been dealing with type 2 diabetes for 30+ years and was experiencing retinopathy and neuropathy in her feet.  She turned things around with a low carb diet - now even an option the American Diabetes Association recognizes! (should be the ADA standard diet in this writer's opinion) Her journey and the people we listen to anymore are in this message board thread.  Diabetes has been recognized as one major cause of kidney disease.  (UPDATE: After 2 1/2 years getting a 'Continuous Glucose Monitor' has been another game-changer!  She has been able to time her nph insulin better and she is finding some meals aren't as low carb as hoped for.  Here is a post on Reddit about one improvement with the cgm, put up by this writer)
